Why it is here
Delhi-NCR is first on Sacnilk's Day 1 advance booking table: ₹2.37 Cr gross from 821 shows. Occupancy is only 20%, so it leads on the sheer number of shows, not on full halls.
Early on, Delhi-NCR sold the most tickets: 18,674 for Rs. 1.42 crore. Mumbai was close behind with 14,823 tickets for Rs. 1.01 crore. This is an early snapshot, not the latest total.
History
In 1911 the British decided to move India's capital from Calcutta to Delhi. It was announced on 12 December 1911, and the new capital was officially opened on 15 February 1931.
Keep in mind
Delhi-NCR leads early sales, with Rs 1.52 crore from 19,913 tickets. Booking opening was delayed by a revenue-sharing dispute between the film's North India distributor and cinema chains.
A big lead in tickets can still mean empty seats. Sacnilk put the film's occupancy at 11 per cent. That figure is for the whole country, not Delhi alone.
